Hay Adult Theatre Studies (HATS) Needs You!
Entertainers needed to make an entrance in a Variety Show funded by the UK Government*.
Hay Theatre’s “Spring is Sprung” will be a Variety Show full of laughs and liveliness!
Yes, we know winter is nearly upon us, but soon it will be spring again and we will be ready to emerge with a sparkling and rejuvenating production suitable for family audiences. Whether you are a complete beginner at the performing arts, an ex-pro, or somewhere in-between and you would like to have a go at treading the boards, then this is for you!
Workshops and rehearsals begin on Thursday October 3rd at Cusop Village Hall at 7.30pm and then on alternate Thursdays after that. Hay Theatre CIC have been doing this for 10 years now and are well known for our quality, fun-filled community productions, so don’t miss out.
We will pool our ideas: you may have a party-piece, song, poem, sketch, dance, or just want to be part of the chorus. We will need a compere, maybe an accompanist. Who knows?
The first few sessions will be led by Artistic Director Janine Sharp with get-to-know workshops and gathering of ideas. Once we know “who’s in” and what we’re doing then we can organise rehearsals. We will have professionally-led comedy, magic and musical theatre sessions from friendly specialists. Costumes, set and film backdrops will be added from January 2025 (you may just fancy helping backstage), culminating in the show itself in mid-March at a local village hall near you, ready for the Spring!
Our younger members of Hay Youth Theatre will join in with a piece or two in January, so our age range will be vast. Workshops last up to 2 hours with a break, for a donation of £5 towards expenses.
So… let this not be “the winter of your discontent”, come and join in the fun.
