Hay Film Makers is a not for profit, community initiative set up in Hay-on-Wye. We are an inclusive, cross-generational group open to anyone who would like the opportunity to learn about film making. Whether you would like to be in front or behind the camera, we provide a safe learning environment to promote creativity through the development of imagination, giving people confidence through learning new skills. Under the umbrella of Hay Theatre CIC and linking with Hay Junior and Senior Youth Theatre and Hay Theatre Studies, Hay Film Makers meet regularly in Hay on Wye and is open to all.
We have the venue, we have the enthusiasm, we have the expertise from a qualified and local, award winning film maker Johnny Cartwright, in partnership with Theatre Director and ex BBC presenter Janine Sharp (Artistic Director Hay Theatre Company) who are happy to voluntarily lead the group. We have a camera, lighting and sound recording group equipment that we use but please feel free to bring along any equipment that you have.
Any age welcome, no experience necessary.Come and make short films with us, perhaps with a view of making a feature length long community film, once we have a core group together.
For details contact Janine Sharp on 07733 055430, e-mail or Johnny on 07527183961 or via . Donation of £5 goes towards editing time and equipment.
See you soon - perhaps out on location.
